Five of Berlin’s top coding schools are joining forces to challenge web dev students to build innovative, sustainability-centered apps. This eco-hackathon will be running running November 26-28, both online and in Berlin.
Teams of 5 will work on projects to enable a joint solution for the climate-neutral and energy-saving use of resources in the office.
Five participants from each educational provider form a group and “fight” against each other to see who can develop the best and most innovative project for a sustainable future in 48 hours.
The whole thing takes place in the rooms of 42 Berlin in Neukölln.There will be lots of PCs, excited programmers, some companies evaluating our talents and of course snacks and drinks.

Tackle a real-world challenge that stands out on a CV.
Create a web application for employees to log and track eco-friendly activities that reduce CO₂ emissions. The tracker should quantify these actions in terms of CO₂ savings and convert them into monetary rewards that employees can redeem at the end of each quarter.

The first two days of the hackathon will take place online, with participants collaborating remotely. On the third day, teams will gather in person at the 42 Berlin campus to finalize their projects and present them to the panel.
