Not your typical UX/UI design Bootcamp

Do you know what companies value the most when hiring new UX/UI designers?

UX/UI Design offers excellent opportunities for career changers and people with a tech and/or design background alike. Anyone can learn the necessary skills and reap the benefits it brings–stable high earnings, the comforts of remote work, and a guaranteed future-proof career path.

But most people who try entering this field lack certain key skills that allow them to take on more responsibility within a company or project. That’s where UX/UI Designers often fall short–especially in the Startup world.

That’s why we created this Bootcamp. It goes much deeper and further than just learning UX or UI design. It also teaches you how to strategically manage and plan the whole design process, giving you more flexibility in the job market and a higher salary.

Put simply:

“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”

UX/UI Design + Product Management + Tech Knowledge
+ Business Strategy
=

“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”

Where our graduates work

Requirements

What you will not need

You’ll get to know all the key aspects of user experience design in the Primer–a preparational course to make sure you and your fellow classmates are in the same league before the Bootcamp starts. So it’s fine if you’ve never designed or have no prior experience in the field. Remember, every master knew nothing at the beginning.

Most people think that Product Design is all about visual design, but like Steve Jobs used to say, design is not (just) about how it looks, but about how it works. We will show you how to technically and visually design in an easy-to-understand and appealing way.

You’re here to grow together with others, not to outdo them. A collaborative, friendly attitude is essential, and your only benchmark for progress should be yourself. We encourage teamwork at all levels

A common question when it comes to UI/UX design. The short answer: No. You don’t need any coding skills at all.

What you will need

Many of the concepts you will learn will be new and unfamiliar to you. The material we’ll present you with will push you outside of your comfort zone. This is natural. Embrace it.

Our bootcamp is open to international students, and it is in English. You don’t have to be a native speaker, but you should know the language well enough to be able to follow a class, and communicate with your fellow students, without slowing everyone else down.

Our virtual platform, where you will meet your instructors and study alongside your peers, is online. To join us, you will need a computer or a laptop connected to the Internet, along with speakers/headphones and a microphone.

Accelerate your growth with this unique feedback system

Happy designer doing usability tests on whiteboard

This Bootcamp will equip you with all the skills you need to become a ready-to-hire Digital Product Designer from scratch. It goes far beyond the theory, with a uniquely practical approach to learning that breaks with the formula of the traditional Bootcamp:

You’ll build a portfolio starting from week 1. Where other Bootcamps attempt to train you for the reality of work… we actually let you do real work. You’ll be given specific tasks each week and work together with your classmates as a Design Team. Then, you’ll get serious feedback on your work. Our junior instructors will take the role of Product Owners, your lead instructor will act as the CEO, and your classmates will be your co-workers. All feedback sessions will be set up like an honest Product Owner to Designer meeting – just like in the real world.

Course topics

This Bootcamp focuses on practical experience, allowing you to work in settings equivalent to those of a real Design Studio or Design Squad in a big company. You’ll acquire all the skills you need to work in a professional setting, but also understand how to talk with clients, experts, investors, and other key people. The Bootcamp consists of 5 different phases:

UX Module

Everything you need to understand user and business needs. Set a strong foundation for your product, understand user behavior and how to efficiently integrate yourself into a team:

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

UI Module

Next, we need to represent the solutions in a human-centered way. This phase is all about teaching you how to create effective and beautiful user interfaces and makes for an amazing topic:

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Product management

Once you’ve learned how to design and research a product, it’s time to discover how to make that product real: how to plan the design process, set appropriate time frames for the team, and how to develop, implement, and test the final product.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Service & Strategy Design

Discover the power of Service Design and learn to create a seamless user experience from start to finish. Take a restaurant for example: how can you create a dream-come-true experience for the waitresses to handle ordering and payment processes, or help the cooks with the food and menu design? Once you master Service Design it’s kind of like playing a game.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Final Project

It’s time to put everything you have learned to use: build a full-scale project from the ground up, with teammates, in conditions similar to those you will meet in the tech industry itself. Design something for use in the real world, and showcase it in your portfolio once you start applying for jobs.

Teaching methods

A bootcamp is more than just an online course: it’s a full-immersion in an interactive learning environment in which you and other students will be as closely supported as you will be actively challenged.

Learn by doing

Work on concrete projects based on real-life problems. Expand your skills with each new project.

Interactive online seminars

Start building real projects in live, instructor-led seminars alongside your fellow students.

Part of our world

Gain access to our virtual platform, and network with both pros and fellow students at any time of the day.

The Primer

Primer screen Quiz

It doesn’t matter if you have prior experience in design or not. Before the Bootcamp begins you’ll be given access to the Primer–an introductory course to bring you up to speed with all the other students. The Primer is a 2-weeks mandatory course to help you understand the basics of Digital Product Design.
